Tungsten Carbide Corner Radius End Mill Four Flutes General Processing
The weakest point on an end mill is the sharp corner of the flutes at the flat tip. Grinding down the flute corners into a rounded edge solves this problem nicely. Used to create a radius in the corner of a slot or pocket, corner radius end mills, also known as bull nose end mills or rounded edge end mills, reduce chipping of the mill and greatly extend the tool life. Additionally, corner radius end mills remove material faster than traditional ball end mills, thus improving productivity. The rounded corner flutes add such a cost-saving benefit due to the longevity of the tool life, that if your design can tolerate a slightly rounded corner edge, these bull nose mills are highly recommended.
